The GIANTS 2026 Indigenous Guernsey, "Mirrung", is designed by proud Dharug artist Kane Wright.

"Mirrung" – meaning belonging – is a design deeply rooted in the cultural ties of the Darug community, created for the 2026 GWS Giants Indigenous round guernsey. The design is a celebration of the community’s cultural heritage and club values, encapsulating the four key pillars of the Giants: harmony, health, education, and employment. These pillars reflect the unity, support, and growth within the community, with the G at the heart of the design symbolising their importance.

Throughout the design their are several key elements. The artwork includes handprints, a powerful reflection of the wisdom and guidance provided by Elders and leaders who shape the community and the club. Two boomerangs represent the fierce competition between the teams during Sir Doug Nicholls Round, showcasing the intense battle on the field.  The design also features two meeting places, symbolising the strong bond between the Giants players and the Orange Army, coming together as one to honour the club.
Storylines throughout the guernsey reflect the shared knowledge passed down through generations, connecting the community and the Giants family. Seven yarning circles are included in the design, representing various communities across the Darug region and the exchange of cultural knowledge. Finally, the dotwork represents the journey and footsteps of everyone who has been part of the club’s story, leaving their mark on its rich history.

"Mirrung" is a powerful visual representation of unity, respect, and belonging, honouring the enduring strength of community and the Giants' shared journey with their community. It highlights the importance of cultural leadership, education, and connection to country, celebrating the ongoing bond that empowers future generations.
